Katie Cassidy, MSW, RSW
Hello! My name is Katie and I am a Clinical Social Worker. I aim to provide a safe space for you to explore whatever it is that is currently causing distress, and am here to support you in making the changes you want in order to live a happy, fulfilling life.
I have experience working with anxiety/worry, depression, trauma, substance use and concurrent disorders, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and stress. Using a warm, welcoming, flexible and non-judgmental approach, I let both your needs and goals guide our work together. I draw from various evidence-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I take a very holistic and collaborative approach to treatment and am committed to helping you build on your current strengths and resilience, and improving your mental health and wellbeing.
I obtained a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Toronto with a specialization in Mental Health in 2016. I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and with the Ontario Association of Social Workers. My experience has included providing direct clinical support to individuals experiencing addiction and mental health issues at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
I work with both youth and adults.
We encourage prospective clients to contact providers they are considering, to ask questions and see if they might be a good fit.
