Mikayla Rukavina, MSW, RSW
Hi! I'm Mikayla Rukavina. I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Psychology degree from York University and received my Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Toronto in 2016. During my time as a social worker, I have worked with diverse populations in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I currently work at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and I am expanding my practice to support youth in the private sector. My focus is providing therapy to youth between the ages of 12-18. I can support you with a wide variety of different issues: relationship, school, family, social, mental health, and addictions (e.g., including behavioural addictions).
I practice from a place of non-judgement and unconditional positive regard. My approach to care is very individualized and tailored to meet your unique needs. I take a strengths-based and humanistic approach to care, getting to know you as a human being and not only just as someone who may be struggling anxiety, mood disorders, addictions and/or interpersonal issues.
I strive to create a warm space where my clients feel safe and welcomed. I utilize evidence-based psychosocial interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness-based practice. I am looking forward to working with you! Please feel free to contact me.
