Stephanie Wong, MEd, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hi! My name is Stephanie Wong and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I enjoy working with clients in developing effective skills to work towards their goals.
I have experience with a range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, borderline traits (ie. self-harm, impulsivity, emotion dysregulation), interpersonal problems, stress, and low self-esteem. I understand the impact of personality disorders, specifically Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), on families and the difficulties that come with communicating with your person struggling with BPD. I can provide and build upon skills needed to improve communication and ultimately the relationship.
I completed my Master of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy at OISE, University of Toronto; and received clinical training at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health in the Integrated Day Treatment program for outpatients and the BPD clinic Family Connections group. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, integrative and tailored to your goals; because I believe everyone is different and an expert of their own lives. I draw on evidence-based treatments, such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, CBT, Mindfulness Based Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
To me, therapy is a journey of empowerment and building on strengths to create a life that is meaningful. My goal is to help you navigate your emotions, interpersonal relationships or any other difficulties you might be experiencing so that you can start enjoying a life that is meaningful to you.
